Chinatown CNY 2015

These were taken about a week before Chinese New Year. I actually got there by 9:30 on a weekday to avoid the crowds as it can get very busy on the weekends.  Chinatown is usually a fascinating place to go but in the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year it becomes even more fascinating. There are temporary stalls that sell colorful decorations, interesting food and it has a more festive atmosphere in general.

This was interesting. All kinds of dried meat, from sausage to fish to-Yes ducks. I never did find out what you do with any of it.

These photos are of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple that is in Chinatown.

Some of the many Chinese New Year Decorations for sale.

This old man was so entertaining. It was especially fun to watch him interact with the kids.

The man on the right is painting a scene of the old man and the kids in the above photo. I would love to have seen the final painting.

CNY Decorations on the left and chopsticks on the right.

You see various alters like the one on the left all over Singapore. On the right is one of the doors of the Indian temple.
